The Illinois is perhaps the most beautiful river in Oregon. It flows through the remote Kalmiopsis Wilderness of Southern Oregon and is a tributary to the more famous Rogue River.
It's rarely run since it only flows after a recent rainstorm or in the spring when low level snow is melting. It also has many Class IV rapids as well as one significant Class V, Green Wall. If you have the skills, are willing to deal with cold weather, and can go after a rain storm, you won't be dissapointed.
