The Rogue River was one of the eight original Wild and Scenic Rivers when Congress passed the Wild and Scenic Rivers act in 1968. It was chosen for it's rich history, abundant wildlife, and opportunities for recreation along it's course.
The most popular section for Rogue River rafting is the 35 miles between Grave Creek and Foster Bar. Most people take 4 days to float this section, although trips range from 3-7 days. The rapids are mostly Class II and III with big pools in between. The one Class IV rapid Blossom Bar is famous for causing problems for boaters. Each summer unskilled boaters get hung up on the rocks in the rapid.

The Rogue River flows through the mountains of Southern Oregon and is one of the most famous rivers for rafting in the Country. It's best known for the 35 miles stretch from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. It flows through a forested canyon full of wildlife.
